Proof That God Has a Sense of Humour
Since I had gotten home last night, I had been thinking about a song called “Somewhere” by Within Temptation. Without going into it too much, it reminded me of a certain show I’d been watching recently. That’s the background.
Well, soon came the time for
supper (mac ‘n’ cheese and baked potatoes). And everything seemed to be going
wrong. First, I couldn’t find the bacon bits (essential for that meal). Then,
we couldn’t find the trays—we’re supposed to have eight, but we could only find
four. Three of them were already taken by the little kids.
Finally, I decided to make some
microwaveable bacon. But I couldn’t find any scissors to open the packet. Let
me tell you, I was just about to lose my mind. We couldn’t find anything! So I stormed
into the other room and lay down (on my back) on the bed, giving up.
I decided to distract myself
from the slowly-increasing madness in my nerves. So I thought about the song I had
in my head, and the show (and memories from thence) that my mind associated with
it.
Suddenly, I realized just what
the whole song was about. The chorus goes like this: *I’ll find you somewhere/I’ll
keep on trying/Until my dying day/I just need to know/Whatever has happened/The
truth will free my soul*
Let me tell you, I burst out
laughing. I felt almost like I was in some kind of music video of that song. I couldn’t
find anything, and I kept on searching, trying to find them. I can’t believe I didn’t
notice it sooner. I enjoy connecting stories with songs—in fact, I’d just been
doing it earlier with that exact song! So I got up and shook my head…
…And then I saw a pair of
scissors.
